For Trenton

I wanted to show you the card I made for a very special young man who turned 13 recently, Happy Birthday Trenton! I know....this is kind of an unusual birthday card, but after giving it some thought, we wanted to send Trenton a card, and share some wise words to help guide him through the next few years (along with a little cash, of course!). This looks like it could be my monthly project for the Divine Design Challenge, but it's not....that's coming up on March 8th ~ one week from today! This scripture, from Micah 6:8, is my all time favorite bible verse...and we decided this would be a great one to share with Trenton. I used my computer to create the verse then printed it onto Whisper White cardstock. I pulled out a Simply Scrappin' Kit (retired hostess gift....Creative License) and worked with the pieces from the kit. This project was a little hard at first with no flowers, no glitter (gasp!!) and no soft spring colors. It felt a little like I had two arms tied behind my back (lol!), but that's where the scrapbook kit came in really handy. The color scheme and style was just what I was looking for. With all those great pieces from the kit, it was easy to also make him a bookmark to keep in his bible.

The next few days are going to be busy, busy, busy ~ 2 workshops plus my daughter is visiting (fun stuff!)...so I probably won't be posting anything new for a few days. I will have some new things to show you after the workshops! Hope you have an AWESOME weekend = ) !!!
Supplies for Trenton's card:
Stamps & Ink: none, computer generated verse
Paper: Not quite Navy, Wild Wasabi, Pumpkin, Whisper White, Creative License SSK
Accessories: Paper piercing tool, Silver brads, 3/4 & 1" Circle punches, Jumbo Pewter eyelet, Double Stitched Wasabi Ribbon

This is great!! That's one of my favorite verses, too (and I'm now humming the chorus :) and I really like the "treatment" you gave it! Thanks so much for sharing - and the great reminder, too...

Nancy, you did a fantastic job on this card! WOW!
I never think to use the computer for sentiments. It looks like a stamped image!
Hope you enjoy your visit with your daughter and best of luck at your workshops!
