Pat The Bad Dog

Well...Pat's not really bad, just being a little silly :) ! I had a super fun time stamping with Cami (stamp a little love baby) earlier this week. She and her daughter Avery are the sweetest girls you'll ever meet (seriously!). We played with some of her OCL stamps and this image worked beautifully for this week's SCS sketch challenge (SC221). You can see the entire Pat the Bad Dog set right HERE. And, I have something new to show you. Do you see that sparkly, fluffy "dirt"? It's- Brown Sugar Sparkly Fluff and it will be available very soon, anyday now, at OCL!! It comes in a TON of colors and it's soooo easy to use. I love the texture and hint of sparkle it adds. I colored the area with Copic E31 (great for sand & dirt), then used a Quickie Glue Pen and drew glue onto the areas I want to "fluff", then sprinkled on a little fluff, tapped off the excess and whaa-laa! Super easy and I love the results. The DP is from the Penny Lane collection by My Mind's Eye. I'm really diggin' (as Pat would say) that DP! My finishing touch was adding Crystal Effects to the dog food, dog dish and Pat's nose. I can't seem to make a card without Crystal Effects these days. It adds such great shine and dimension.
That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by. I have more fun stuff to show you...soon :) !! Have an awesome day!

Hoppy Anna Mae

I'm back :) ! I've been out of town for a few days, visiting the grandbaby and picking up my youngest, Megan, from college. We're enjoying a little time together during spring break. I made this card for her last week (finals week) and when I got to her apartment she had it proudly displayed!! And now that she's received it...I can show it to you too. I used the OCL stamps,Hoppy Anna Mae (girl) and Pean-nut Bunny (sentiment). OCL just started a Spring Sale...all the Easter sets are 15% off !! Just in time for Easter!!! I used SCS Sketch Challenge (SC219). Really fun little layout, one I hadn't tried before.
Since I've been out of town, I ha
ven't done much stamping, but I do have several projects on the workbench and a BIG Stampin Up box full of goodies to unload, ...so I'll have more to show you later this week. And, I have a new picture of Chloe to share with you, taken on the first day of spring :) ! 3 months old and up to a little over 10 pounds!! Look at those chubby little cheeks. I know I'm a little partial...but come on, you've got to admit, she is such a cutie!! I'm glad you stopped by, hope your week is extra nice!

Quick & Simple Color Challenge Cards

I looked at my to-do list this morning and then I popped over to SCS to see what the color challenge was and I was delighted to see that Emily had picked some great colors that would help me with 3 manly Christmas cards I needed to make for the hubby to give to his work associates! The challenge was to use Sahara Sand, Basic Black & Very Vanilla (CC195). I made 3 very similar cards, I'll show you 2 of those today. My 2nd challenge was that my stamping time was very limited today, so I had to keep the cards simple...and that's just what I did. I used my Lovely As A Tree set...it's such a classic!I used Graphite Brilliance ink with clear Embossing Powder for all the images and sentiments on today's cards. Embossing only takes a second and the results add a lot to an otherwise simple card. I love how that Graphite Brilliance ink just pops...it's SO black...I love it!The final touches for first 2 cards was just a touch of Crystal Effects with Chunky Sprinkles (glitter) ! You can double click on the first photo to get a closer look at the snowy details :) .
And here's another little card made with a stamp set (deer friends...SU hostess level-2 set) that was out on my workbench. This one isn't for the guys...but it is kind of sweet, don't you think? It went together super quick. Gotta love those circle and scallop punches...they really help with making quick cards and tags!!

Thanks for stopping by! If time allows, I hope to share a fun tutorial with you later this week...for a SUPER simple little gift card holder!

Supplies for all 3 cards (I used such similar supplies...I'm going to combine): The first 2 cards are 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" the last card is 4 1/4" square ~ Stamps: Pine Tree (Lovely as a Tree-SU), Merry Christmas (Hero Arts), Warm Wishes (Hugs & Wishes-SU), O Holy night (Deer friends, SU Hostess level-2) Paper: Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Sahara Sand Ink: Graphite Brilliance with clear Emobossing Powder Tools/Accessories: Heat Gun, Embossing buddy, Crystal Effects, Chunky Sprinkles, Black & Gold Brads, 1/4" black gg ribbon, Paper piercing tool/mat pack, 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, Scallop circle punch, Gold Stickles, Black/white stitched Amuse ribbon, snowflake cb embossing folder

Miracles Happen

I love this sentiment...Miracles Happen! I believe miracles happen in big and small ways every day, you just need to look around and you'll find 'em. My daughter told me she was daydreaming at a traffic light yesterday and a moment later a car ran a red light and went right through the intersection where she should have been. Hmmm...a random daydream or a miracle? Take your pick...but I pick miracle :) ! The sentiment and the bird are both from the Vintage Bird set, by Pink Poison. This bird was fun to color! I tried to add ribbon and a few other embelishments to this card but it just looked too busy, so I kept it simple. This DP, from My Mind's Eye, Just Dreamy 2 collection, is so gorgeous, you don't need much else (the DP & Rhinestones are both available at Eclectic Paperie). Lots of dimension & color on this card and you can see that a little better in this photo ~ This little pup is getting stamped a lot at my house :) ... he's so cute, I just can't help myself! It's Pat the Dog, from Our Craft Lounge!! I made this card for yesterday's color challenge (CC193)at SCS, to use Real Red, Black & Kraft. I don't think I've ever used that combo before, but I sure like it! I was hoping to do the sketch challenge today, but it ended up only being a hope. Maybe tomorrow? That's it for today ... I still have a couple fun workshop projects to show you and a great little tutorial for you in the next few days too! Have a great evening, thanks for stopping :) !

Splendid new Stamps!

Quick post to show you a couple of cards made with one of Pink Poison's (Splendid Little Company) brand new stamp sets :) ! These sets are being released today...October 1st! This one's called "Cup O Stuff" and it's so darn sweet! You can see the entire set right HERE. I used Sketch #4, from the Splendid Little Blog, for the layout. I used Copics E13, E15, E08, YR24, YG03, YG06 & C1 to color the image. That fun Designer Paper is from SU and is called Haiku! The coordinating cardstock is So Saffron, Tangerine Tango & Chocolate Chip :)

Here's the inside, I didn't use any ribbon on the outside of my cards today {{gasp!}} so I snuck a little on the inside ~ And here's a card that I made for today' SCS color challenge (CC186), to use Really Rust, Chocolate Chip & Baja Breeze! Love that color combo!! Love the image!!! The card is a little plain, I keep wondering if it still needs something...but after re-making it 3 times tonight...I'm done with it, lol! Does that ever happen to you? Everytime I got a little frustrated with the card, I'd look at the sweet little mouse smiling up at me, and I just couldn't get too upset :) !!! Thanks Marie, for drawing such sweet images. They are a blast to color!!

Speaking of coloring, I used a combination of Copics and SU Inks & Blender pens to color the mouse & the cup. I wanted to play the color challenge, but didn't have the Copic for Baja Breeze (BG72), so I just grabbed my Baja Breeze & Kiwi Kiss Ink Pads, and a Blender Pen and used those to color the cup, flower & leaves, and you know what...it worked just fine! The Copics I used for the Mouse were E00, E13, E15, E95 and the rust on the cup was E08 & E09. I did a little shading with C1.
I'll have more to show you from these and other new Pink Poison sets...so stay tuned and thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

Color & Sketch Challenges

I colored these images while watching a movie with my family last night. For me, coloring is a great way to relax... it's just too hard to sit still and watch a movie without having something in my hands. My family, a little popcorn, my Scor-Pal/Scor-mat in my lap and a few Copics nearby...now that's one great way to spend an evening :) !!! I checked this week's color challenge before getting started & pulled out a few Copics that fit the challenge, to use Riding Hood Red, Artichoke & Basic Gray (CC184). I used R37 for Riding Hood Red, G85 & G99 for Artichoke & N3, N6 & C1 for the Gray. The branches are E13 & E15. I used R32 for their cheeks & other highlights. My grays aren't an exact match for Basic Gray, but it's what I have, so I made it work :) . Oh, and there's a touch of B000 around the eyes. I used one of my favorite newly released stamps, Christmas Birds, by Pink Poison/Splendid Little Stamps! I absolutely love those little birds, they are just precious!

This next one technically also qualifies for the color challenge (she does have artichoke in her dress), but it's really for the Sketch challenge (CC194). I used my new Princess Anya stamp for this one...love those Anyas & I heard we can expect to see more Anyas in the near future...woo-hoo!! Great layout, it was fun to try. More Riding Hood Red & Basic Gray with a little Prism Aluminum cardstock, embossed with the Cuttlebug Textiles embossing folder. I Used the same colors of Copics with the addition of E00 & G40 for her skin & eyeshadow. Oh, I almost forgot...I used C1 for shadowing around the images. It's almost always what I use because it's subtle, but does add some depth (almost sounds like I know what I'm doing...it's a nice illusion, lol!!)

I have another RAK to share with you today too :) ! This is one I received from my friend Tonya! Beautiful layout, colors (Black, Pomegranate & Pink) & choice of images (Sweet Always)...isn't it awesome?! Tonya just started blogging recently and I think you're going to really like what you find over at Ribbon Paper Ink! Thanks Tonya, you & your cards never failed to amaze & inspire me :) !!!

That's it for today. I've been neglecting my beautiful new SU stamps a bit, but do have some fun things in the works for my hostess club girls and a few things on the workbench too!! So many great stamps, so little stamping time. What's a girl to do, lol!! I also have some great new ODBD stamps that should be arriving in my mailbox anyday. I've seen 'em online & can't wait to introduce them to some ink...and share them with you :) ! I also have a simple little masking tutorial to share with you soon. So, stay tuned for that. Thanks for stopping by :) . Have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!!

Friends Forever

I finally got to do a little stamping today : ) ... it's been too long, I almost forgot how, lol! Thankfully I had my new Pink Poison Stamps to inspire me! I used the newly released Friends Forever set, isn't it fun? I used this week's SCS sketch challenge (SC192) for the layout. I really like the sketch, it allows for a quick simple card if that's what you want...and we all need quick and simple sometimes! I will have lots more to show you in the next couple weeks from Pink Poison's new releases, but don't forget about that Splendid Giveaway going on all this month...click HERE for all the details on how you can win your very own FREE stamp set : ) !!! Guess which set she's giving away this week...I think you're gonna like it, but you will have to hop on over and see for yourself 'cause I'm not telling ;)
Here's a look inside of the card ~ Here are the Copics I used to color the images. Don't ask me why I needed that many...I just did. Sometimes I get a little carried away. Several of them had to do with getting the hi-lites in the girls' hair just right, lol!
Monday is the 8th, so be sure to check back for Divine Design Projects. I have a fun little card and scripture to share with you! I hope you're having an awesome weekend. Thanks for stopping by!!

Supplies for the card ~ (finished size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2) Stamps: Friends Forever Paper: Purely Pomegrante (retired SU), Not Quite Navy, White, Designer Series hostess paper pack Ink: Palette Noir, Copics Accessories/Tools: Photo Corner Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Purely Pomegranate double stitched ribbon (retired SU), 1/4" brocade blue gg ribbon, Sakura clear glaze pen, Spica clear, black & gold glitter pens

Splendid Little Dream Quotes

Good Monday Mornin' to ya : ) !!! A few more cards to show you from another set released this month by Pink Poinson/Splendid Little Stamps! This set is called Dream Quotes and it's a beauty! Inspirational quotes plus wonderful images that perfectly compliment the quotes. This first card was another I did for last week's SCS Sketch Challenge (SC190). I stamped the flowers onto white cardstock, then cut them out with my Paper Snips. Sometimes I'll have people comment about that being a really time consuming process, but it's really not. The key is having the proper scissors. Good paper scissors make cutting out, even intricate designs, a snap...seriously! I used my Sponge dauber to sponge on a bit more Pink Pirouette ink onto the flowers before adding tiny pearls to the centers. The flowers are popped up on Dimensionals.
This next card was the very first card I made, same day the stamps arrived last week : ). It was late and I was tired by the time things settled down around our place and I got the stamps trimmed and ready, but I simply couldn't resist inking 'em up...they were just calling to me!! It's a simple little card, but I like it. Sometimes simple is good. I added a little Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the center of the flowers, just to give them a little subtle shimmer.

That's is for now. Lots more to show you this week. I can't always do this, but will probably be posting almost every day this week...so stay tuned & thanks for stopping by : ) !!!

Supplies for the first card (4 3/4 x 5 1/4") ~ Stamps: Dream Quotes Paper: Pink Pirouette, Basic Black, White, Bella Rose DP Ink: Palette Noir, Pink Pirouette Tools/Accessories: Cuttlebug with Circle/Scallop Nesties, Kaiser self-adhesive pearls, White organdy ribbon, Dimensionals, Paper snips, Sponge dauber

Supplies for the second card (5 x 4 3/4") ~ Stamps: Dream Quotes Paper: White, Black, Pink Pirouette Ink: Palette Noir, Pink Pirouette Tools/Accessories: Stamp-a-majig, Black Gingham ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Sakura Quickie glue pen, Black eyelets, Dimensionals

Lions and Angels

Quick post to show you 3 cards I've been working on. I just realized how silly that sounds...this isn't work, this is fun ; ) ! BTW, I was planning on sharing a gift bag tutorial today, but ran into some technical difficulty and will need to re-take a few photos, but I promise, I will share it as soon as possible. My first card was made with Our Daily Bread Design's newly released stamp set, Peace. I really like the contrast of the Copper Prism Metallic cardstock with the Lion image. You can see a little of the rich shimmer in the photo!! I got to do a little coloring with my Copics and used a Sakura White Glaze pen to make the lamb white and give him (her?) a little texture. Here are the Copics I used ~ Here's a fun, funky little card using ODBD's new Angel set. I had my Cuttlebug & Nestabilities out for these cards. Circles & Scalloped Circles everywhere you look, lol! I used some brand spankin' new SU Hawaii Papaya DP...You gotta love this color combo ~ Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango & Kiwi Kiss!! Speaking of love, what about that Kiwi Kiss/Vanilla Satin ribbon? And last but not least, here's the card I did for this week's SCS sketch challenge (SC190). Since this is a Christmas card I added some silver accents with Prism Metallic Silver cardstock and "Silver Bells"Dew Drops. I broke into my new pack of SU Holiday Treasure DP and some of the gorgeous new Riding Hood Red Taffeta ribbon. I just popped over to ODBD to grab a few links for this post and noticed Kelley is not only carrying the Scor-Pal (have it, love it!)...but she also has the new Scor-mat that fits neatly inside the Scor-Pal. So, one minute I'm minding my own business, getting a few links, and the next thing you know, I have a Scor-Mat in my shopping cart : ) ! My friend Cami was just telling me how much she loves her Scor-mat, and now, I'll have one of my very own!! Cami, you are SUCH an enabler, and I love ya for it {{hugs}}!

Supplies for the Lion Card ~ (4 1/4 x 4 1/2"): Stamps: Peace (ODBD) Paper: Prism Metallic Copper, White, Almost Artichoke Ink: Almost Artichoke Accessories: Scallop Edge Punch, CB/Nesties, Paper piercing tool/mat pack, artichoke ribbon, mini copper brads, Copics, Sakura White & Clear glaze pens, Spica gold glitter pen, Dimensionals

Clean & Simple

This is my card for today's Featured Stamper over at SCS...Jessica (Knightrone)! I had such a fun time looking through her gallery (great cards!!) and finally decided to case THIS one. I used the same stamp set for the image (retired hostess set, Garden Silhouettes), but changed the sentiment (Hugs & Wishes), varied the paper piercing a bit, substituted (flame) dew drops for the brads and used a different color scheme (Regal Rose & Old Olive). I really like clean, crisp, simple cards, and today especially, that's all I wanted to make. Here's a super simple card using the new Dreams du Jour set and the new in-color Baja Breeze~ It looks a little bland/washed out in the photo, but irl, the baja breeze is a beautiful splash of color contrasting the white and black. The paper piercing in the corner and image piece on dimensionals also adds some interest to this simple layout. I know it looks a little boring in the photo, but I wouldn't change a thing...I'm really liking this clean, simple look.

And another card with the Dreams du Jour set, but this time using the new in-colors Tangerine Tango & Kiwi Kiss. Still simple, but I did add a few more details to this one ~ I stamped the flower images and butterfly in Tangerine Tango and cut them out with my paper snips. I colored the leaves and outline with my Blender pen and Tanerine & Kiwi classic inks. I used my favorite new tool, the scallop edge punch, then added some paper piercing, Dazzling Diamonds and an Old Olive Eyelet. Finished it off with some sweet little black gingham ribbon!

I want to thank 3 VERY special ladies for nominating me for awards over the past couple weeks. Life has been a little crazy for us, so stamping and posting has been sporatic. I planned on doing these awards last week and, well, it's Sunday and still haven't done it. Let me at LEAST tell you about these sweet girls and give you the links to their blogs so you can be inspired and amazed! Shauna (Stampingly Yours) & Lori (Stamp Scents) both nominated me for the Brilliant award (thanks girls, you're sooooo sweet!)...I actually already received this, but am honored & blessed to be nominated again. Pauline (Jottings, Blottings on Paper) nominated me for this wonderful blogging friends forever award (thanks Pauline, YOU are such a blessing!) ~

I'll be giving a little thought on who to pass those awards along to....so many great blog and sweet friends...it's always so hard to decide....okay, I just nominate you all : ) ... does that count, lol?

THANKS : ) for stopping...have a GREAT week!

Inspired Challenges

I'm catching up on challenges and projects! I don't know about you, but life just keeps throwing me curve balls...thank goodness for stamping, it's good therapy : ) !! I made this first card for this week's SCS color challenge... using Elegant Eggplant, Taken with Teal & Old Olive (CC179). I never in a million years would have put these colors together without this challenge. Even at first glance when I saw the challenge description, I was thinking to myself, there's no way. Then I saw that the challenge was based on one of Nancy Riley's (stampinat6213), cards, and if Nancy makes it, well...it's gotta be good! You can see her amazing card right HERE! Thanks for the inspiration Nancy...you're awesome : ) !!!
Speaking of inspiring, this week's SCS feature stamper is Kim Teasdale, and this next card is a case of one of her beautiful cards that you can see right HERE! If you ever want to be inspired and cheered up all at the same time, take a stroll through her gallery at SCS. She makes the sweetest and most beautiful cards, they're just wonderful! I didn't even end up stamping for my card. I had this special new DP on my workbench, from Our Daily Bread Designs (available August 15th), and I just combined that with Kim's beautiful layout. I'm working on some sneak peek ODBD projects to show you tomorrow (for sets being released this Friday!). Be sure to check back tomorrow for more on that. This card is dedicated to my Mom Bonnie, my friend Kim and my birthday buddy Mavis! All three are breast cancer survivors!! Also dedicated to anyone out there who has or is currently facing a battle with cancer! You won't want to miss tomorrow's post...the stamp set hope is just for you : ) !
By the way, my favorite new tool from the new SU catalog is the Scallop Edge Punch! Look back through my projects and you'll see that I've used it on almost every one since pre-ordering in July. This is my top pick for must have tools!! I'll take a photo of it and show you how easy it is to use one day next week!

Scrappy Birthday

Last week's
SCS Ways to Use it Challenge was to use up scraps. I knew that was one challenge I'd have to play...I ALWAYS intend on going back and using my scraps, but I have to admit, I'm not always good about doing it. This was just the nudge I needed, plus I had some great stuff in the scrap pile! I also check out the challenge at the Great Swaps Girls, to use 3 kinds of embelishments. How fun is that? So I combined the two challenges and this card is the result. I found these great images in the scrap pile from the All in the Family (girl) and All Holidays (sentiment) stamp sets. In fact, the only thing that didn't come out of the scrap pile was the square scallop piece. For the GSG challenge, my 4 types of embelishments are ~ a flower from the Pretties Kit (sitting in the scrap pile, already tinted pink, what a find!), a close to cocoa button, silver brads and some pink taffeta ribbon. Does Dazzling Diamonds counts as an embelishment? If so, then I used 5 types! Finished size of this card is 4 1/4" square, my favorite : ) !
This is a quick, simple little 3" enclosure card, made for my friend Tonya... Happy, Happy (a little belated) Birthday Tonya : ) ! The butterfly image is from the soon to be released (August 11th!!!) SU set, Dreams Du Jour! I'll have more to show you from that set soon. The sentiment is from the All Holidays set. That's a new set for me and I am sure enjoying it!! Great sentiments for all the holidays...thus the name!
For those of you who love SU stamps and products this is an exciting week! Lots of great things happening. New Catalog coming out on Monday (August 11th)...if you don't have a local demonstrator and would like a catty, just let me know and I'll ship you one (minimal charge, just to cover my cost). Discounts beginning Monday on several of the brand spankin new set!! Heard from the Heart

What do you get when you combine friendship and stamping? Wow, that could be answered a hundred ways. I don't know about you, but I've met some of the best friends of my life through stamping (that includes many of you I've met through the blog too)!! Yesterday, a great visit with my friend Nancy Littrell, resulted in both of the cards I'm posting today! Both use some great new SU stamps, inks & papers !! The first card is almost an exact case of Nancy's card, the only change made was to add Dazzling Diamonds glitter. You can see her original card, uploaded to her SCS gallery, right HERE....isn't it stunning? I saw it irl yesterday, and as beautiful as it looks in her gallery, it's even better irl!! She was nice enough to share some great tips on masking & sponging and bascially walked me through each step of recreating her wonderful card. Fun technique, one I will be sure to use again!! Thanks Nance...you're the best!!! We used Pacific Point, Bashful Blue & Pink Pirouette Ink for the sponging, Black Stazon ink for the Trees (Lovely as a Tree), and Pacific Point ink for the sentiment (Heard from the Heart). Cardstock is Whisper White, Pacific Point and Basic Black. We tried out some new Eclipse masking tape that I got recently. Really nice product to use for masking techniques. I got mine at Eclectic Paperie : ) !

I stamped a few extra images from Nancy's Heard From The Heart set and she stamped a few from my Sock Monkey set...hey, our moms taught us well, we LOVE to share : ) ! After she left, I made a card using this week's SCS Sketch Challenge (SC187). The colors are a bit bolder that I'd normally use, and I'm generally just not crazy about the card (does that ever happen to you?)...but I really like the sketch, so I thought I'd show it to ya anyway. This card uses a lot of fun new stuff from the upcoming SU Fall/Winter catalog...won't be long now....release date for that catalog is coming right up on August 11th!! The Pacific Point cardstock, Bella Rose DP, Sock Monkey(heart) & Heard from the Heart Stamp (sentiment) and Pacific Point classic ink pad. I used a silver ribbon pull from the Silver HPH collection, Amuse sheer ribbon & silver Making Memories heart brads. A little Paper piercing finished it off.

More exciting new from SU ~ Soon you will be able to order our products on-line, via the SU website or through my SU Business Website! I'll be sharing more about that in the coming weeks. For many of you who aren't demonstrators and don't have a local demonstrator....this will be a great option!!!

In the past, I usually list all the supplies I used for my projects at the end of each post. Is that helpful to you? If so, I would be more than HAPPY to start doing that again. Just leave a comment and let me know!

Thanks for looking...enjoy your weekend : )

Try a Blinz fold

I played the SCS Try a New Technique challenge today (TLC179)! This challenge was to try the Blintz Base fold. Apparently this is a type of origami fold, but it works great for framing in an image on a card (or a scrapbook page). Directions for that fold were kindly provided by Cook22 (all the way from Dublin Ireland!), right HERE. I still can't put the new Bella Rose DP down...so I gave this Blintz fold a try with it. It was surprisingly easy and something I will use again in future projects! Lots of August birthdays coming up : ) , so I pulled out the new Sock Monkey set and used the cupcake and "just for you sentiment". I did a little paper piecing with the cupcake. Love that technique...use it all the time! Click HERE to see a monkey card I made earlier this month with the same set & DPs : ) ! This set was a big surprise for me....I seriously did not expect to like it this much!!
This is going to be the shortest post ever, but that's it for me!! Thanks for stopping by... {{hugs to all}} !

Supplies for the card~ Stamps: Sock Monkey Paper: Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, Pirourette Pink, Whisper White, Bella Rose DP Ink: Black Stazon, Chocolate Chip Accessories: Fiskar Cutter/Scorere (for score lines), Silver brads & eyelets, Pink rhinestones eyelets, Paper piercing tool/mat pack, Paper snips, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Cropadile, Dimensionals, Cuttlebug with small round scallop nestability

not a raffle : )

SCS is hosting a NON-RAFFLE to benefit Midwest Flood Relief efforts! It's a GREAT cause ... and those who donate will have a chance to win some GREAT prizes (details right HERE)!!! One of the MANY prizes in the prize gallery is a Divine Design Bound Book, which includes inspirational Scripture pages from the Scripture Chicks!! Each of the Scripture Chicks (Lori Craig ~ Make A Difference, Angel Wilde ~ Angelosity, Jami Sibley ~ More isMore , Taylor Van Bruggen ~ Taylored Expressions, and myself) contributed pages to be included in the book. Lori coordinated the effort , bound the book and made the beautiful cover!! Today's projects are the pages that I contributed : ) !

Among the other great prizes in the non-raffle prize gallery, is a Gift Certificate from ODBD : ) ... how cool is that! I {{heart}} my ODBD stamps!! I used Sing to the Lord (Psalm 98:1) on the first page and the second page is a remake of a card I made earlier this year with the stamp set, Light of the World. (there is a 1/2" border at the top of each page for the binding...finshished size of each page is 4 1/2 x 6).

If you love ODBD stamps, be sure check the ODBD blog this week for details on how you can win a FREE ODBD stamp set : ) !!!

My 3rd page is a computer generated verse...Proverbs 3:5-6. One of my all time favorite scriptures! If YOU love scripture and stamping, I'd like to invite you to join us for the Divine Design Challenge. You can read all the challenge details right HERE.

Cross of Christ Challenges

I had time for just 2 of the SCS challenges this week, did both last night, late into the wee hours : ) ! This first one was for one of the super fun challenges being hosted by the Dirty Dozen Design team & Alumn over at SCS this week...you can check out all the fun right HERE! I played Jody's, It's All About The Ribbon challenge, and you can see those details right HERE!! I used some sweet pink with brown polka dot Amuse ribbon and built the card from there. I am such a ribbon addict. I knew I only had time for one of the DD challenges, and since I have TONS and TONS or ribbon (and never enough!) this challenge was the perfect one for me : ) !!
I used my brand new ODBD Cross of Christ set for both of today's cards. Funny story about that stamp set. It took a vacation to Hawaii before coming to Oregon (wish I could have gone with it). Couldn't figure out why it hadn't arrived and when Kelley tracked it, it was in Honolulu. It arrive last weekend, tanned and relaxed, and I introduced it to some ink last night : ) ! Great stamp set designed by one of our DT members, Dina...you can read all her and this fantastic stamp set plus see the other new releases right HERE!! This card is for a sweet lady whose husband went home to heaven a few days ago. I'm playing piano at his memorial service later today. I wanted to make her an extra special card, and these colors and embelishments all reminded me of her. I used yesterday's sketch challenge at SCS (SC186). I used some of the Prism Silver Metallic cardstock and ran it through my cuttlebug with the textiles ef. That cardstock is fantastic, and it embosses beautifullly too!! I pulled some white scalloped ribbon out of my stash...have no idea where I got it but it was perfect for this card. See, that's why a girl can never have too much ribbon, ya just never know what you're gonna need : ) ! I used some tiny crystals on the cross and slightly larger ones on the corners of the card and on the flower. They just don't photograph well, but irl, they have the most amazing sparkle (I got mine at Walmart in the craft/jewelery making department).

Supplies for the first card ~ Stamps: Cross of Christ Paper: Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Bella Rose DP, White Ink: Chocolate Chip & Pink Pirouette Accessories: polka dot ribbon (Amuse), Scallop Edge punch, Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Dimensionals

Supplies for the first card ~ Stamps: Cross of Christ Paper: Perfectly Plum, Pale Plum, Whisper White, Silver Prism Metallics Ink: Versamark Accessories: Silver ep, heat gun, Cuttlebug with textiles ef, 1/4" circle punch, Crystals, Ticket corner punch, Flower from Pretties Kit, White scalloped ribbon & Silver stretch cord, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by : ) !!!

Give Thanks

Happy Wednesday : ) ! It's a very happy day for me because for the first time in weeks I was able to do the Sketch challenge at SCS!!! This is SC185, but I did change it from a rectangle to a square... I think that's okay? You can see that sketch and the challenge details right HERE! This stamp is part of the Give Thanks set, just released by ODBD! At first glance, you might just think of this as a Thanksgiving set (like the card I made yesterday), and it is a fantastic Thanksgiving set...but it's so much more!! The scriptures that come with this set can be used all year round. You'll be seeing more of this set later in the week!!
These cards both feature the brand new Pink Pirouette cardstock and Bella Rose DP, from the the upcoming SU Fall/Winter catalog. Pink Pirouette is one of the new in-colors and it is lovely. SU hit the nail on the head this year with those in-colors, I love 'em all : ) !!! And the new Bella Rose DP...oh yeah, it's gorgeous, every single sheet!
The second card also has scallops that were made with the brand new SU Scallop Edge Punch. It's super easy to use and makes beautiful scallops! It will also be available, along with the new cardstock & DP on August 11th when the new F/W catalog is released!! Hey, this is one of the perks of being a demonstrator, we get to pre-order some of the goodies and try 'em out. It's a tough job, but somebody has to do it, LOL!!! I sponged some Pink Pirouette ink onto flowers from the Pretties kit and made them just the right color for the card!
Tomorrow, I have some tagging to do : ) ... and a few awards to give out! That's always fun. Thanks for stopping by & have a great evening!!
