Light of the World

I've been sooooo excited for today and finally get to show you these brand new stamps by Our Daily Bread Designs! And guess what? I'm on the Design Team!! My very first...it's a dream come true. Beautiful, top quality stamps, featuring scripture and a corresponding image. Plus, Kelley is giving a portion of her proceeds to help feed the hungry...that's pretty cool, don't you think? Let me introduce you to the very creative & talented design team Kelley has put together (not sure how I ended up with this group, but I'm so happy to be here!!):
Amy Sheffer
Angel Wilde
Dina Kowal
Kelly Sampson
Lauren Meader
Laurie Schmidlin

Kelley's first set is called Light of the World...you can check out the entire set right HERE!! PLUS, Kelley has given me a set to give away, so be sure to keep reading, for all the details on how you can WIN a set of your very own = ) !!!!Wooo-hooo!!!! I have so much to show you and tell you today, so we better move on. The first card was done for today's SCS Sketch Challenge, SC168.

I made this little box to hold scripture cards. The finished size is 2 1/4 deep x 3 1/4 wide x 3 1/4 tall. The box is Jen Del Muro's design, and you can find her fabulous tutorial right HERE! Thanks Jen, that box was perfect to hold each of Kelley's verses, and plenty of room in the box to add more as she releases new sets each month!! I have a little easel that is just right for featuring the one I want to see and memorize!

As soon as I saw these stamps, I knew I wanted to do a red, white & blue card....and this is it. I wanted to add a little dimension to the card, so I stamped an extra image of the lighthouse, cut it out, and popped it up on dimensionals. Really quick and easy and added a nice element to the card (you can see that a little better in the 2nd photo). As I was taking the photo, the sun was shining through the window and added a nice beam of light to the card. Seemed fitting for the scripture. It's been about a week of non-stop overcast rain and drizzle here on the Oregon Coast, so it was a blessing to see sunshine today!!

This next card is a simple 4 1/4 square. Mostly DP, and featuring the verse. I think a set of these notecards, using each of the 3 verses, would make a lovely gift! Something I plan on making in the near future!!

I was going to post this last card on St Patrick's Day, earlier this week, because there's so much green in it, but I wasn't sure I liked it. Maybe a bit too much green, but I like the layout, so I thought I'd show you. There's a green rhinestone brad in the center of the flower and the image is stamped on Shimmery white...so irl, there's some nice shimmer & sparkle going on!! So....those are my first projects and I'll be showing you more over the next few weeks. I am so impressed with these stamps Kelley has designed. Not only are they beautiful, they are REALLY easy to use. You know when you get a new stamp....you ink it up...put it to paper....and get to see that first image?? Well, for me, it was the lighthouse, and I have to tell you, the first image, was perfectly crisp and clean, I literally let out a little gasp of delight = ) ! Now that's a great stamp! You can check out Kelley's blog, The Stampng Studio, HERE...and the Our Daily Bread Designs site, HERE.

Wait a minute...I think I mentioned BLOG CANDY?? Kelley has given me a "Light of the World" set to give away!! To be entered, all you need to do is pop over to Our Daily Bread Designs, take a look around, then come back here and leave me a comment on this post, telling me what you think of Kelley's new Stamp Company! I will draw a random winner, on Saturday morning!!

#2 Congrats on your addition to the design team. I'm sure many more opportunities also await you in the future. This truly is a lovely stamp set. I particularly like the font used on the bible verses. All your creations made with this set are beautiful. Funny thing is, a month or so ago I was on SCS & saw a few spiritual cards that didn't really move me. That same evening I prayed for a designer to make a set that would inspire & speak to me. Looks like my prayer was answered. TFS!

You're a great addition to be on the team - you've worked hard and do an awesome job. What a wonderful idea to have stamping and christian stamps all in one. Absolutely love the lighthouse, especially where we live - so close to many. Interesting on how to sand your stamp to condition it. Love ya. Sis

I love that the stamps can be on either wood or on smart cushion. Can't wait to see more. (I would leave a number, but it looks like they got off. I think it's because the screen refreshes at different times, depending on when each person is posting, so it's bound to be off for somebody). Thanks for the chance!

Do you want to hear something really funny? I had your blog open on the lower bar most of the day because I planned on casing your cute little girl dress. Right before I began working on the project, I clicked on a banner for Our Daily Bread Designs on SCS. I was so impressed with the rich artwork and quality of the sets! It wasn't until now that I noticed the new additions to your blog. I don't think it is coincidence! These sets will be perfect for the group I lead Faithbooking at church. Thank you for sharing! I really like the stamp set. I agree with all the comments about how nice it is to see a Bible based stamp set.

One of my favorite verses is "Be still and know that I am God." It translates directly from the Norwegian Bible as "Shut up and know that I am God." Isn't that cool? Sometimes we need to just shut up and know. I also would love to see "Every good and perfect gift comes from above coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights who does not change like shifting shadows." and "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask..." Both of those are in 1 Tim. 1, and I love to use them with baby cards, invites, etc.
