More quick, simple cards today...I feel like I've been flyin' by the seat of my past this last week, so cards have had to be quick and simple. You know how Rachel Ray has her 30 minute meals show....well today's post is my card version of that show.... "3 cards in 30 minutes" . I'm really enjoying this new SU wedding set, To Have and To Hold. This time I used it to make an anniversary card...a 30th annivesary for a very special couple (Happy Anniversary Steve & Mary)!! The Happy Anniversary sentiment is from one of my favorite, very versatile sentiment sets, Hugs & Wishes! I already had the image piece colored and it was sitting in my scrap pile (long story how it landed there, lol!)...so that made the card even faster. Tip for making fast cards ~ check out your scrap-pile, there's probably something there that you can turn into a great card! This card is one my husband asked me (kind of last minute...you know how that is) to make for an employee celebrating 20 years with the bank : ) !! I haven't met the gal who'll be receiving it, so I asked my husband about her and what type of card she'd like...he said it should be fun, maybe blue, but definitely no pink, nothing frilly, not too cutsey, not too serious and no glitter {gasp! no gliter?!?}. I showed him a few different sentiments and he like this one from the Phrases for a Friend stamp set from the Occasions mini catalog. That gave me a good starting point. I think it looks like it still needs a few more details, but he thought it was perfect...so that's that. Now that I'm looking at the photo again, the there is one thing that I think would have changed...I'd punch a hole just under the "c" in celebrate and thread the ribbon through...but the card is long gone, so that will have to be something fun to try next time : ) ! There's a tiny spraking swarovski crystal in the "o" , but it didn't show up looking very shiny in the photo, but IRL, it REALLY pops!! I found those at Walmart in the craft/jewelery making isle...they called to me. I'm a little like a gold fish, easily lured in by shiny things, LOL : ) !!! I used textured cardstock for the stars...found a couple of those in my scrap-pile too! And this last card was made with the new Fresh Cuts Notecards (available this month as a sneak peek from the new fall/winter catty)! Those are great for making quick cards. This was a very quick card. I used the "thank you" from the Enjoy every Moment set, along with some Pumpkin Desiner Series Paper, Felt Flowers (Flower Fusion), a Regal Rose brad and a little double striped 5/8" Pumpkin ribbon (from the scrap-pile)...and it was done! 5 minutes...start to finish!! Now that's a fast card : ) !
What are you tips for quick cards? I'd love to hear you ideas : ) !!!
