Easy Party Favor

What do you do with all those little scraps of cardstock and designer paper leftover from your other projects? Here's a great little party favor that will make great use of those scraps!! Along with Party Paper Promotion this month...Stampin' Up is also offering, on their website, free instructions for 6 projects! This little party favor is one of them. I took a picture of the favor I made, along with a picture of Stampin' Up's example. As you can see, I didn't use any of the same supplies they used, but used their idea to create a party favor with what I had on hand. I started with a snack sized hershey bar (on sale for 1/2 price because it was with the halloween candy!). The size of the candy bar is about 4 x 1 1/4 inches...just to give you an idea of the size. You can turn most any little candies into a favor, as long as it can be wrapped up in tissue. I took some metallic gold tissue paper (from the dollar store) and cut a piece about 6 x 4 inches. I wrapped it around the little candy bar and tied it with gold stretch cord at both ends. I cut a piece of DP from the holiday harmony collection (I love that paper)...wrapped it around and adhered it to the tissue as I was adering it to itself. I added a layer of artichoke cardstock with a little paper piercing and 5/8" gg chocolate ribbon for the next layer. Then I stamped the little flower from the Baroque Motifs set with versamark onto river rock cardstock (after rubbing the embossing buddy on the paper, I don't know if you've tried that, but it really helps the embossing powder NOT to stick to random places on the cardstock)...sprinkled a little gold embossing powder on & heat embossed. I punched my little flower out with the 3/4" circle punch and used a mini glue dot to adhere it to the ribbon. It's taken me far longer to write out the instructions than it did to make this cute little nugget! I think these would be great for Thanksgiving....when I get a chance, I'm going to play around with doing the same with the pomegrate paper form the holiday harmony dp collection and use my pomegranate satin ribbon...that would make a nice favor too! For Stampin Up's directions on how to make this project along with 5 others....go the the website, click on Party Paper Promotion on the left side of the screen, then click on Download Project ideas on the right side of the screen.

P.S. If you haven't entered this week's challenge for your chance at blog candy....check out my posting from November 1st....you still have 48 hours to make & give something away! Oh, and it doesn't need to be SU papers....just something with DP. AND it doesn't have to be fancy, could be as simple as a candy bar dressed up in DP and placed on a co-workers desk! Or in your husband's lunchbox. RAKs don't have to be elaborate....just thoughtful!!
