Quick and Easy Gift Card Holder

This is my very favorite way to make a really quick card AND Gift Card Holder all in one! It's really just a little card with a spot for a gift card, but it totally works!!! Sharon Johnson, has a great challenge on her blog, notimetostamp, this week, to make quick and easy gift card holders. I love her challenges, they always involve keeping things simple.
She has some great examples of more traditional gift card holders for you to see along with all the challenge details on her blog. She has an awesome blog with tons of beauitful cards, projects and inspiring challenges!!!

For my gift card holder, I started with SU's Gift Card and Mini Envelopes. They're just the right size for a gift card (card is 3 7/8 x 2 3/4), plus you have an envelope to slip your little card into when you're finished. My base layer, of Wild Wasabi, is 3 5/8 x 2 1/2. I added some dp from the Winter Bright Scrapbook kit (love that paper) and a strip of cardstock in wasabi and real red. I like to make the gift card holders to match the gift cards, whenever possible, and this one looks just great with red dp! The sentiment is from Fundamental Phrases. The little snowman is from the Merry and Bright set in the Holiday Mini and I layered him up with the 1 1/4 and 1 3/8 circle punches and the scallop circle punch. I added a little color to the snowman with SU markers and a bit of dazzling diamonds! I did some quick paper piercing, punched the corners of the dp with the ticket corner punch and added some silver brads. The red gingham ribbon just wraps around the card. I punched two holes in the wasabi layer for the ribbon, adhered the ribbon to the notecard with a little sticky strip, threaded the ribbon through the holes, then placed the base layer onto the notecard with dimensionals. I place 2 glue dots on the gift card and adhered it to the top inside of the card. The stamped the snowflakes from the Merry and Bright set on the corners of the bottom inside of the card, and it's all ready for a quick greeting!

Thanks Sharon for a really fun challenge!
Just a reminder, last day to order from the Holiday mini Catalog is November 30th...and that includes that darling little Merry and Bright set!!

I love these little gift card holders you do! Such a great way to make a gift card more personal and exciting to open :) That little snowman just makes me smile- he's so cheerful and sweet! Ricky and Bobby are cuddled up snoozing so I can't poll them, but I give it an A+ for cuteness!
