Divine Design BVC 4

It's the 8th...you know what that means :) ... time to post our monthly projects for the the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge!! Not familiar with our challenge? Click HERE for all the details, so you can play along :) !!! My scripture this month is from Colossians ~ Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men (3:23). I think our hearts and our motives sometimes get so fragmented with the demands of this world...good to remember that out ultimate goal should always be to serve the Lord in whatever we do, and to do that for His glory and for His recognition! Good reminder for me anyway :) !

Be sure to check out the other Scripture Chick's projects too~
Lori Craig ~ Make A Difference
Angel Wilde ~ Angelosity
Jami Sibley ~ More is More
Taylor Van Bruggen ~ Taylored Expressions

My second project each month is a bookmark that I make for my daughter, Megan. She chooses the scripture and I mail her a bookmark (she's at college). It always blesses me to see which scripture she's selected. This month she chose ~ I find rest in God; only he gives me hope. He is my rock and my salvataion. He is my defender, I will not be defeated. My honor and salvation come from God. He is my mighty rock and my protection. Psalms 62:5-7 (new century version). I printed the scriptures for both projects on the computer and for Meg's bookmark I stamped some polka dots on the sentiment pieces, to coorinate with the celery and bashful polkadots on the designer paper...I was pretty tickled to see how well it blended with the DP! There's also a LOT of shimmer and sparkle on her bookmark, but the photo just doesn't show it...I've had some trouble getting fine detail with my camera. I think it has a lot to do with the dark, overcast days we've had.

There is a HUGE and growing gallery over at SCS, using the keywords BVC08...your can check out that awesome gallery HERE! This is a great way to combine your love of stamping with scripture and memorization. I'm just making a card each month that I display, some girls are making journals, memory cards etc. Whatever works for you. I really do hope you'll play along. I have a few great scripture stamps, but if I don't have a stamp for the scripture I select, I just print it on my computer...how easy is that? If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me: youcanstamp@hotmail.com.

Supplies for my card~ Stamps: Think Happy Thoughts, Computer generated scripture Paper: Celery, Lavender Lace, Whisper White Ink: Lavender Lace, Certainly Celery Accessories: Self adhesive rhinestones, 1/4" celery gg ribbon, Photo corner punch

Supplies for Meg's bookmark~ Stamps: A little birdie told me, Enjoy every moment (polkadot), Computer generated scripture Paper: Certainly Celery, Brocade Blue, Whisper White, Cutie Pie DP Ink: Celery, Bashful Blue Accessories: Round tab punch, SU Markerse in Bashful & Celery, Sakura clear stardust pen, Self-adhesive rhinestones

Have a GREAT Day :) !!!

p.s. I just made some slight alterations to my card, got a better photo and uploaded it...so if you checked in earlier and saw a slightly different card...you're right! It's still not my most favorite card, but I do love that scipture, so I'm going to concentrate on that part and accept the fact that sometimes we all make cards that we're just not crazy about!

hugs & blessings, nancy

Nancy - I love your card with it's clean crispness and wonderful verse - the added bling brightens it too! I more especially love your book marks - how wonderful that your daughter picks out a verse she wants on them - this one is so cute with the bird stamp and great colors - and also with an important message.

Just wonderful and an inspiration - thank you!

Beautiful work! Even more than that though---what an encouragement to hear that your daughter is picking verses too. My children are still very young, and I only hope and pray that we will be sharing scriptures with each other then. What a great mom you are! Thanks for sharing! Great idea!

Oh, I LOVE this! I've been meaning to jump into this challenge...I'm going to today...

I can't tell you how excited I was to see your card today--this verse is one of my son's declarations (verses he says every morning that particularly apply to his life)!! He's 8. I showed him your card and it brought a wonderful smile to his face!

Both of these cards and Scripture verses are awesome!! My children and I pray each morning on the way to school, and I'm always including Col. 3:23 in hopes that they'll relate it to their work at school, as well as everything else they do.

I love your work! Have a beautiful day!
