Divine Design BVC September

It's the 8th ... that means it's time to post our Divine Design, Bible Verse Challenge projects! I chose the scripture from Psalm 27:1 ~ The Lord is my Light and my Salvation; whom shall I fear? I have been faced with some really big challenges these past few months and I bet many of you have too. This scripture is an important reminder for me that when I place my trust in God, there is no need to fear. Nothing is difficult or confusing to Him. Life may appear to be uncertain at times, but with God, we have the certaintly of hope & peace as we trust in Him. No fear : ) ! I pulled out my very first Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set for the scripture... the Light of the World set (still one of my favorite) and the new SU Eastern Blooms set for the flowers.

Would you like to WIN a FREE ODBD stamp set? Kelley from Our Daily Bread Designs is giving away some sweet BLOG CANDY : ) ! She's also asking for prayers and cards for her good friend Sandy who was diagnosed with cancer recently. You can read all the details right HERE. For that blog candy, just click HERE & leave a comment! All of us at the ODBD Design team are sending cards & prayers....hope you'll join us!!
Speaking of joining us, YOU can join us anytime, in making a monthly Bible Verse project. Lori has all the official Divine Design details for you right HERE. And when you upload to the SCS gallery, be sure to use the keyword BVC08!! And, here are the links to the other scripture chick's blogs so you can check out their beautiful and inspiring projects ~

I used the new Eastern Blooms set for the flowers on my card and for this bookmark too (it's for my daughter Meg...she chose the scripture, Jeremiah 29:11). I used Crystal Effects and Dazzling Diamonds glitter on the card. It added some great dimension & shimmer that you can't see as well as I'd hoped in the photo. The bookmark has some subtle shimmer from my Spica Clear Glitter pen. Anything that sits on my work bench eventually get's shimmered or sparkled up in one way or another, lol! I like that the Eastern Bloom flowers work great as a background, but those flowers can also be used as focal points & accent pieces, lots of versatility in this set. I started with Tangerine Tango & Kiwi Kiss on the card, then switched to Not Quite Navy & Bravo Burgundy. Two completely different looks, same great stamp set : ) ! I have to show you the back of the bookmark, nothing fancy, but those flowers really brighten it up...
We played a new song at church this weekend and I wanted to share it with you. It's called Give Me Your Eyes by Brandon Heath. You can click right HERE to pop over to youtube and hear it. What a profound message. I hope it challenges you as much as it did me. Even when my life feels challenging, I want to see the world and each person through God's eyes. I don't want to miss my chance to reach out, to care, to pray. Big HUGS to each & every one of you...THANKS for stopping by!

Both of your creations are beautiful! And a big "well done!" to your daughter for the verse she selected - it's my most favorite Bible verse, and in fact is at the bottom of my blog page because I love it so much!

Nancy your project is very striking and I think it's interesting how the verses you, Angel and I chose kind of work together as a theme - He did not give us a spirit of fear...whom shal I fear?....nothing can separate us from His love. Wow!

Love your card and your bookmark. I also really loved Brandon Heath's new song. He is such a talented Christian artist, and has been one of my favorites since my daughter heard him perform at a Young Life camp in British Columbia, Canada called Malibu. His music expresses his heart so well . . . such an amazing young man. Thanks for sharing your card, and the Lord's message through Brandon's music.

I always love to see what you gals do for your scripture each month. I also intend to join you, too, but it always slips up on me before I know it. One of these days I will make a card WAY ahead so that it will be ready to post on the 8th. Thanks for sharing your cards and your faith.

Oh, I love your card, Nancy! So striking with those colors and the placement of the flowers. Highlights the verse as the focal point, but all adds beautifully to the overall look. Gorgeous! Book mark is super too.
