More Anyas & last chance to sign up for the Blog Candy!

Tomorrow's the big day...I'll be drawing a random winner for my blogiversary Blog Candy! Have you signed up yet? You can check out the details right HERE!! To get your name in that drawing one more time, just leave a comment on today's post and tell me what you listen to or watch while you're stamping. For me...it depends on my mood and what I'm working on, but I MUST have something going in the background, either a dvd or music while I'm stamping! If it's a DVD, it's probabaly a musical :) !!! For the first card, I used the Elf Anya, limited edition stamp. Just a heads up, this is a limited edition stamp and when the supply runs out, they're gone for good...so if you like her, you might want to place your order sooner rather than later. She is adorable, that's for sure!!! I actually pulled out one of my all time favorite Christmas movies while making this card, ELF :) ... love that movie especially this little song/scene ~ Baby it's cold outside)! Those embossed dots on the scallop were made with my Cropadile, then I went over them with my Sakura Clear Glaze pen...fun way to add a little texture! I shared a quick little tutorial on the Cropadile Embossing technique last year, you can find that right HERE.

Here's Rock Star Anya ! My daughter, Katie, wrote songs and played the electric guitar in a high school band (they were REALLY good!)... and this card totally reminds me of her. She went through a phase of dying her hair a variety of colors, including pink! I have to admit, I'm glad she's back to being a blonde...but she looked cute, even when she was my pink haired girl ;) And here is my very conservative little Teacher Anya card (that's my nice way of saying that I think my card looks plain). My daughter, Megan, is studying to be an elementary school teacher so this stamp is extra special for us.

I love hearing about which Anya is YOUR favorite. As for me, there's no way I could ever choose a favorite...whichever one I'm working with, that's my favorite. From the nurse to the rockstar...they are all perfect for someone I know! And the upcoming (soon to be released) Ian (Anya's fiance) is going to be a favorite too, can't wait to get some ink on him!!
A couple of you have asked Copic questions (great subject...love my Copics), so let's see. My favorite Copic to outline/shadow with is the C1 (that's what I used with the teacher). But sometimes I use BG000, which I did today with the Elf and the Rock Star. The other question that is asked from time to time is, how to get started with Copics...I'm going to email a couple friends and see what's currently available for starter kits. If you use a lot of SU supplies (like me) then you also want to make sure you get colors that will coordinate with your cardstock and DP...and I'm going to find some resources for you there too. And you need to use the right paper and ink for optimal results. My plan is to answer those questions (and maybe a few others) in an upcoming post... or at least get you a link to a site that can answer those....how does that sound?
Alrighty then :) ... thanks for stopping by! I'll be selecting a winner for the blog candy tomorrow around noon, so be sure & check back to see who our lucky duck will be!!!!

A lot of times, I turn the tv on to HG-TV or I listen to my Ipod.

If I get to stamp during the day I don't usually listen to anything. At night I sometimes turn the TV on and half watch it while stamping. It's funny because I am musical but I usually like the peace and quiet.

Love the Anya cards you created today!!! Rock Star Anya is my favorite.

I listen to music while I stamp, always have to have it going, usually some 80's music.

These stamps are so cute. Actually I don't listen to anything and it's nice. The only time I get to stamp is occasionally when my 2 year old is sleeping and I enjoy the peace.

I still think that the elf is my favorite Anya...but it is hard to choose! I normally have the TV going in the background, but I don't really pay much attention to it (I'm very focused...lol)

Thanks for sharing, Nancy! Love your blog!!

Your cards are so great, awesome coloring.
I listen to the sounds of my son and his puppy playing, running, barking, and wrestling. Not what you were expecting, right?!
Thanks for the opportunity to win!

I usually have something going. But don't really pay attention to it, just need the background noise!!

I love all these cards - your coloring is just amazing! When I stamp, I usually just have a CD playing. I love music *almost* as much as stamping :)

Well...I sometimes have the tv on for background noise, but usually I don't listen to anything. Sometimes I need it quiet so I can think and relax and just focus on my project. Just have some quiet time!

I usually don't listen to anything at all!! But our computer is in the same room and I'll sometimes turn on Rhapsody and just listen to some new music that I don't own! These Anyas are really gorgeous. I think I will try embossing - it looks great like that!

I never listen to music when I stamp, I do sometimes have the tv on. Mostly so that is isn't so quiet in my stamping room. Love your cards today, like always. Thank you for another chance to win.

The cards are just fabulous. I listen to music, and sometimes if my DH has the TV on really LOUD then I listen to whatever he has on and music in the background. LOL
Thanks for a chance.

Since I usually stamp in the evening when I'm not running the kids to the mall or a friend's house or basketball/football/baseball/dance,I usually listen to whatever they have going on the TV. I have a stamp room, but for some reason, seem to get more done when I've got everything around me and I'm in the middle of things! I love the Anya's! Thanks for the tip about the outline Copic color -- always good to know! Saves me from my bad guesses! Thanks so much for sharing! Jeannie

It just keeps me company and doesn't mind that I don't chat back! lol I'll look forward to more info on copics...thanks for helping us out with resources. ~Sharon

These are all fantastic!

What I like to listen to while I stamp is the radio. I like country music so I usually have it tuned to one of the local country stations!

Thanks for the chance to win!

Me too...I love all the Anyas!!
Usually I'm listening to the kids play video games or watching tv. If I actually have the house to myself, then there's music on and I'm singing!

I love love the rock star Anya. They are all adorable but that one just makes me smile. When I stamp I do so in absolute silence. Maybe it's b/c when I stamp my kids are in school and I have the day of from my preschool job so silence is treasured. Or it could be that the music distracts me:-) Thank you for sharing your creations with us and for inspiring me.

What absolutely adorable stamps. My DH always has news, CNN, HNN, etc, on so it is always playing in the background and I don't even hear it anymore.
Thanks for this opportunity

Adorable cards!!!! Thanks for the chance to win blog candy.

With kids running around I have a lot of kid music playing in the background. When I'm alone in the house (not too often) I play the radio or a cd. =)

Nancy, your elf card is so cute. When I stopped by I couldn't stop staring at it.....soooooo cute!!! All the details you included are fabulous!

Jennifer Scull said...

what adorable cards! each one is so very special!

I usually don't listen to anything when I'm stamping because I like the peace and quiet. but if I do turn on something, then it is usually some of my fave Christian music like Jars of Clay or 3rd Day. I had Jeremy Camp and Natalie Grant going the other day.

and Elf is SUCH a wonderful movie!!! I'm not usually a fan of Will Ferrel movies, but this one is so good! I like that scene you talked about - also the one where he is accusing the 'fake' Santa. :D

NOTHING! I love my quiet stamping time, no noise no distractions:o)
Unless the kid is home then it's Treehouse in the background.

Hi Nancy, you are really spoiling us with all these chances at your fantastic candy. The Anya cards you've made today are really cute, I like the teacher one, not too plain at all!! I share my stamping area with our computer area and if the kids are around I usually have to listen to them shooting some alien or creature or other than that it's their rock music blaring out!! Keep up the good work. Lots of love, Denise x

I listen to music, normally Third Day! :)

Hi Nancy: Normally I listen to the peace and quiet of my stamp room - but if I get "Crazy" and want some company-It's COUNTRY Music all the way turned up (lucky me my DH is hard of hearing-and maybe that's why he didn't come to rescue when a little tiny mouse was scaring me to death and I was screaming for help and he never came.....thank the heavens the any mice we get are tiny tiny!). Kadie

LOL!

I just had to laugh at this question, because at the moment, it's quiet. I cannot believe it, LOL! My house is usually the sounds of kids playing, fighting, or watching Mr. Rogers. ;-)

I love your copic coloring. You do such a great job. I look forward to any info you share on starting with copics.

I like to listen to an online music station when I stamp. I think it's call Magic 100.7 fm. It plays some of my favorite songs. During the holidays, I find another online station that just plays Christmas music. I love it!

~*Elf Anya Is SOOO Adorable!*~

I love that you chose to make her a brunette. Such rich colours. I can't wait to hear more on the COPIC TOPIC. (Sounds like the name of a rock band.)

My stampin' playlist includes:
TOBY MAC, STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN, CHRIS BOTTI, but for Christmas cards it has to be my favourite...
A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS! :)TFS!
